[00:00:00] Jessica: Have you ever had a quiet whisper that won't go away? Maybe it's a pull towards something bigger, even if it's unclear. Or you feel like something's missing, but you can't quite name it. Or you keep even noticing small whispers or signs that something needs to shift. All of these things are what I call a nudge.

[00:01:08] Welcome to Reclaiming Our Spirit. Welcome back to reclaiming our spirit on today's episode, we are stepping into the energy of the world card to answer the age old question. How do you know when it's time to let go? How do you gather the courage to do it? That's huge. But before we jump in, I want to share just a small moment of joy.
[00:01:32] It's really simple. I have this crystal prism that my family purchased for me years ago, and there is a solar panel on it. And when the sunshine, it charges the panel and it shines through the prism making rainbows. But then that panel makes a crystal rotate. And so the rainbows dance around the room and in my old office, I didn't get as much sun through that window.
[00:01:55] And it takes quite a bit of sun to power this thing. But in my new space, I get it all the time. [00:02:00] Usually I get it all the time. So now I've got rainbows all the time happening in my space. I love the joy that it brings me, but also the joy that I see on other people's faces when they notice that there are rainbows covering the room.
[00:02:15] And this week happened to be a very joy filled week because we happened to have the sun out. Everyone was like basking in the rainbows that were happening. So that is the moment of joy for myself and for others to speak. Our rainbows. There's just something about a rainbow. Last episode of Reclaiming Our Spirit, we dove into how tarot isn't just a deck of cards.
[00:02:35] It's actually a tool for making sense of our world, our journey, our inner and our outer landscapes. And it's really key to have this awareness and understanding what's happening. Because when we reach places of the in between, places that are uncertain, Anything to help anchor us is going to be a boost so that we can keep moving forward and we don't feel like we're getting lost or we're getting sucked.
[00:02:58] Being in this space of [00:03:00] uncertainty, uncertainty, we have to like enter it or we have to be kicked into it, I suppose. We can say yes or someone can shove us into it. But usually there is some kind of nudge that happens. It's the bridge from the world into that, like before you take that first step into the unknown in that in between space, that little tiny micro thing.
[00:03:20] Is the nudge. So I want to talk about the world really quickly though. It's a really beautiful card, blue skies, white puppy clouds on my tarot edition. It has a, um, a big green wreath with a woman in the middle of it. I like wrapped up in a purple ribbon and she's staring directly ahead, directly into your eyes.
[00:03:41] And just with a sense of empowerment, like I've made it really this feeling of belonging and knowing who she is. And that lines up with a traditional meaning, the world means success. It means achievement. It means completion, new levels of consciousness, because that fool has traveled that whole [00:04:00] journey to reach the very last card, which is the world.
[00:04:03] And it feels so good when we get there. I love it when you flip the card and it's like, Oh, it's the world. I've done it. I did it. I reached out what I've set out to do. And the fun part is, fun, should we put that in quotes? The fun part is, is we can't stay, we can't stay in the world. We can't stay. We're ever changing, ever evolving, ever growing, and at some point, we are going to have to leave.
[00:04:31] We are going to have to step into the unknown and take that journey so we can take the leap of the fool all over again. And like I said, it's the nudge that happens in between I'm at the world and the first step. End. There's no right way to describe a nudge. I know that the nudge quote unquote nudge often leads people to work with me.
[00:04:53] When I asked them, why are you coming to work with me now? Like what prompted this? They'll say, Oh, I had a nudge for some people that means [00:05:00] restlessness. They were feeling restless or they were feeling a sense of disconnection or a little inner whisper that said, Oh, you need to be doing this now. You need to explore.
[00:05:08] Maybe things weren't working. That can be a nudge when things are like, I'm just, I just can't even anymore. This just isn't working. Something else has to happen here. My favorite is like that tug, that curiosity, like, Ooh, I don't know what's next, but I can feel it. Let's explore it. I love that aspect of the nudge.
[00:05:24] And I think because the nudge is such a dynamic thing for ourselves, not just for other people, but even with ourselves, nudges can look wildly different from each other. The one key thing that we have to keep in mind when we get nudges or when we're getting a repeated nudge is our power lies in our ability to respond to the nudge.
[00:05:44] Not react to the nudge because sometimes there will be reactions, but how we respond and one of the key influencers and how we respond to things in general in life is our beliefs surrounding it. So whatever belief we have surrounding whatever story we've [00:06:00] woven around this idea of like, if I say yes to the nudge, then this will happen.
[00:06:06] It's key to understanding what we're connecting it to. And so I want to talk about a few of the more common beliefs that people weave around the nudge so that maybe you can see, like, I've been feeling this nudge, but I'm not really sure why I haven't listened to it or why I haven't stepped into the next part or why I haven't left the world yet.
[00:06:26] One of these may actually describe what's going on because these are, these are really common. So the first belief that people have about a nudge is if they can't see what's next, they can't trust the nudge. I get it. I get it. We all want a clear roadmap. Before we take action, because the unknown feels safe and we have to be vulnerable and we're opening ourselves up to something that's a bit of a mystery.
[00:06:52] And so we can hesitate to trust the nudge, especially if we're used to having control and we thrive on like measurable progress, [00:07:00] venturing into the unknown can be horrifying. It can be horrifying. Okay. The belief is if I can't see everything that's next, then I'm not going to take a step forward. I'm not going to leave the space of the world.
[00:07:16] Another belief that people have is that they blow the nudge off as restlessness, or they think, Oh, I should just be grateful for what I have. So I'm going to ignore it. And they dismiss it as either just a phase, as burnout, as boredom, as being ungrateful. Who am I to think I need more than this? Who am I to want more than I when I already have so much?
[00:07:39] Or who am I to think that this is a good idea? So really a lot with like that second guessing, using those things as a shield because changes changes a lot. And at the core of these, it's like how do we wanna navigate change? How do we wanna respond to the nudge is really how do we wanna navigate change?
[00:07:56] Because once we say yes, and we listen to the [00:08:00] nudge and we take that first step, change is like. Going to be the first thing that arrives at our door. As soon as we send that energy out into the universe and we say, yes, that's the first thing that's going to happen. A third belief that I see a lot is letting go means I'm failing or I'm giving up.
[00:08:18] Ooh, this is a big one. And this specifically happens with people who've tied their identity around a role that they play, a relationship that they're having, a career, their business, especially they've like. Invested years into those things, it can feel like you're failing or your sense of purpose or your worth is tied into that success and if you walk away from that success, if you leave that behind to do something else.
[00:08:51] There can be a loss of self, a loss of identity, and that's, that's huge. Uh, the fourth, the timing isn't right. [00:09:00] This is my favorite excuse. I'll just do things when things settle down. I'll pay attention to this nudge when things settle down. I hate to tell you all, I don't know if it's ever going to settle down, at least in my life.
[00:09:14] And I've realized that because this is one of the ones I struggle with the most. I have to make change even when it's not, even when it's not in alignment, when things aren't coming together and change at its heart is inconvenient and disruptive. Even if it's positive change. And so waiting for that perfect moment can keep all of us stuck indefinitely because we're never going to feel fully comfortable with change.
[00:09:36] There's always going to be another, another reason why we don't. And then the fifth one that I, that I see a lot of. Is if I follow the nudge, what if I fail? Ooh, that's a huge one. What if I get it wrong? What if people judge me, hold you back? It can feel safer to stay where you are, even if it's not as fulfilling, [00:10:00] because your fear is driving the bus, your fear becomes louder than the nudge and you get paralyzed and all those what ifs.
[00:10:08] What if people judge me? What if they say horrible things about me? What if it doesn't work? What if I choose wrong? What if I choose the wrong nudge? Nudges are neutral, y'all. Like they're nudging you, but it's not nudging you in like a very specific direction. Once you get the nudge, then you've got to tune in and you've got to figure out, okay, what do I want?
[00:10:29] What am I desiring? What is this nudge symbolizing? I don't think that there's any way to like, figure Fail per se with this one. I think it's just really more about getting in tune with what you want as you're navigating the unknown. And I guess that sort of leads into this idea too, of the power of, and I talk a lot about and, and I put that in capital letters and these beliefs have a lot of influence on how we move from the world to the nudge, to the first step into the [00:11:00] unknown.
[00:11:01] And we don't need to box them up and ignore them. What we need to do is work with them. And sometimes just us adding a simple and to that belief allows our mind to relax into a new possibility. So, for example, I need a clear roadmap before I take action. And I know that clarity comes from movement, and this nudge isn't asking me to leap blindly.
[00:11:30] It's just asking me to take one small step. Do you see how we took that, I need to know everything, and when we added the and, it loosened things up a little bit. It put it in perspective. I should be grateful for what I have. And still honor the pull towards what's next. You can do both things at the same time, because wanting more doesn't make you ungrateful.
[00:11:55] It just makes you honest about what you need to thrive. Letting go means quitting or [00:12:00] giving up. Maybe, perhaps, and that's not necessarily a failure. It may be more about choosing growth and expansion. Sometimes we just simply outgrow what once fit and that's okay. It doesn't mean we're failing. My favorite one, the timing isn't right.
[00:12:24] And if you're feeling the call, you may still be ready to start something, even if the timing is less than ideal. And if I follow the nudge, what if I fail? And what if following the nudge leads to something better than you could have ever imagined? And what if you didn't say yes? What would it look like then?
[00:12:47] And y'all, anytime we follow a nudge, it may not look like we expect. I'm going to, okay, I'm going to adjust that. I just heard from spirit. It probably won't look like what we expect, but it [00:13:00] most likely will bring us closer to being aligned with what truly matters to us. What truly resonates with us on a soul level.
[00:13:09] And that's what the nudge is at its heart. It's potential. It's the potential for something more. It's a potential for something more aligned, something deeper, something truer. Another way to express ourselves, another way to learn and navigate another way to love that nudge is nudging us towards another layer of life, another layer of beauty.
[00:13:36] And even though we don't know where it's going, and even though we don't know what it may look like, just saying yes to it opens up so many doors in front of you than staying in the comfort of the world would ever provide. So if you are in that moment of nudge where you're in the world and you haven't quite stepped into the unknown.
[00:13:57] There are a couple of things that you can do. [00:14:00] Couple of things that I like to put into practice when I'm getting nudged and I get nudged more often than I feel like I should. I feel like I signed up for a life of nudges. One of the first things I do is I can pull up a tarot card or an Oracle card for guidance, where I just sit with my favorite deck and what do I need to know?
[00:14:16] What do I need to know about this nudge or even better? What do I need to know about? My first step and just journal and reflect on the message. At least the nudge knows you listen to it. Maybe it won't be so persistent and maybe that simple. Yes. Just by pulling a card. We'll help you see the possibilities of moving forward.
[00:14:35] We'll help you see that next micro step. And that's kind of the second thing I do is I don't take a huge leap. Definitely not a leap, not ready for a leap yet. When I say yes to that first nudge, it's a really small, simple, low pressure, chill action that feels in alignment with the nudge. So let's say I'm feeling the nudge to expand my work.
[00:14:59] [00:15:00] Maybe it's simply just finding a book that talks a little bit more about it. I'm not leaving my work. I'm not changing my work. I'm simply reading about another possibility or another direction that might light me up. Just one small thing. One thing that you've been curious about. And pay attention to signs and patterns.
[00:15:23] Patterns tell us what's going on behaviorally and in our mind and our thoughts. And signs often come, they're tied to that, but they're often coming from spirit or a higher self. So taking a moment to step back and being like, okay, well, what's showing up again and again, what keeps getting placed in my path and what could it be trying to tell me?
[00:15:43] What could be the message of just the moment, the message of the moment. A lot of times with signs, we're like, what's the big message. And this one sign is going to show me the exact roadmap and the leap. And it's like, whoa, you are putting a lot of pressure on that poor sign. Just. What is the sign trying [00:16:00] to tell me in this moment and what do I want to do from there?
[00:16:05] And so this week, if you've been feeling that nudge or even like this past year for 2024, what nudges have come up? Take a moment, like what nudges have come up over 2024? Which nudges did you pay attention to and what happened when you did and which nudges did you ignore and what are they doing now? And are there any nudges that you still need to say yes to before we kick off 2025?
[00:16:34] So you might want to do this with your journal. You might want to do this with your cards. You might want to do this in meditation, reflection. It's totally to you. But remember, it's just the next step. The nudge does not lead to the leap. It leads to the next step. And that next step gives you the trust that you need to get some clarity just from that movement, clarity to move [00:17:00] forward.
[00:17:01] You don't need all the answers, you just need the next step after that. Okay, question of the episode. If you trusted the nudge that you're currently having for just a moment, just a moment, if you just even humored it, what would that next right step look like? What would it look like? I cannot wait to dive into 2025, talking more about tarot and uncertain times.
